Article Synopsis
  • Trichinellosis is a parasitic infection that damages muscles and can be transmitted through food, prompting research into treatment options.
  • This study explored the effects of the probiotic Linex in combination with the drug Albendazole, showing that this combination significantly reduces the parasite count and enhances immune responses in infected mice.
  • The results indicated that the combined treatment led to the best outcomes, including reduced inflammation and improved immune markers, making it a promising approach for trichinellosis therapy.

Article Synopsis
  • Nasal dermoid sinus cysts (NDSCs) are uncommon congenital growths typically seen in young children, requiring complete surgical removal, with various techniques recommended based on their location.
  • A 21-year-old woman with a long-standing nasal mass underwent surgery combining external rhinoplasty and endoscopic methods, which successfully improved both the functional and aesthetic outcomes without complications during follow-up.
  • For NDSCs, especially those without large intracranial extension, minimally invasive surgical options are preferred to minimize bone damage while achieving satisfactory cosmetic results.

In autoimmune illnesses like Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA), the synovium is constantly inflamed, and joints are ruptured. It is becoming increasingly clear that stem cells, especially notably mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) and microRNAs (miRNAs), play important roles in the onset and amelioration of RA. There is mounting evidence from both animal and human studies that suggests a potentially safe and effective method to treat RA and other intractable diseases by reducing chronic inflammation and spurring tissue regeneration through the transplantation of multipotent adult stem cells, such as mesenchymal stromal/stem cells.

This study aimed to elucidate the possible hepatocellular protective role of irbesartan during hepatic ischemia-reperfusion injury (HIRI) and the probable underlying mechanisms. Wistar rats were allocated into four groups: sham; HIRI (control); irbesartan (50 mg/kg) + HIRI; irbesartan (100 mg/kg) + HIRI; irbesartan + GW9662 (1 mg/kg, i.p.
