Cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs) generate substantial data, often stored in image or PDF formats. Remote monitoring, now an integral component of patient care, places considerable administrative burdens on clinicians and staff, in large part due to the challenge of integrating these data seamlessly into electronic health records. Since 2006, the Heart Rhythm Society, in collaboration with the CIED industry, has led an initiative to establish a unified standard nomenclature.

Background: Despite new modern surgical techniques, no short-term functional differences have been demonstrated between operative and non-operative treatment for acute acromio-clavicular (AC) dislocations Rockwood III-V. Few studies describe the long-term clinical and radiological results of these lesions. We aim to compare the one- and ten-year outcome of patients either treated non-operatively or with hook plate fixation for Rockwood III AC lesions.

Understanding the physiological processes underlying age-related cardiovascular disease (CVD) requires examination of endothelial cell (EC) mitochondrial networks, because mitochondrial function and adenosine triphosphate production are crucial in EC metabolism, and consequently influence CVD progression. Although current biochemical assays and immunofluorescence microscopy can reveal how mitochondrial function influences cellular metabolism, they cannot achieve live observation and tracking changes in mitochondrial networks through fusion and fission events. Holotomographic microscopy (HTM) has emerged as a promising technique for real-time, label-free visualization of ECs and their organelles, such as mitochondria.

Objective: To analyse the risk factors of hypoparathyroidism and hypocalcaemia after total thyroidectomy.

Methods: Clinical data of patients who underwent total thyroidectomy at a tertiary care hospital in southern part of India were collected retrospectively from January 2021 to May 2023. Multivariate logistic regression was used to analyse the risk factors associated with transient hypoparathyroidism and hypocalcaemia separately.
