Objectives: The use of medications among pregnant women has been rising over the past few decades but the reporting of polypharmacy has been sporadic. The objective of this review is to identify literature reporting the prevalence of polypharmacy among pregnant women, the prevalence of multimorbidity in women taking multiple medications in pregnancy and associated effects on maternal and offspring outcomes.
Design: MEDLINE and Embase were searched from their inception to 14 September 2021 for interventional trials, observational studies and systematic reviews reporting on the prevalence of polypharmacy or the use of multiple medications in pregnancy were included.

Introduction: Although studies suggest a potential link between COVID-19 and thyroid dysfunction in adults, there are insufficient data to confirm that association in children, and whether there is any effect on presentation to healthcare services.
Aims: To identify whether presentations of thyroid dysfunction in children to a tertiary paediatric hospital changed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Methods: A retrospective case note review was conducted of all children with abnormal thyroid function tests between 1 January 2016 and 31 December 2021 at a tertiary paediatric endocrine centre in the United Kingdom.
Infection of pacing and cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) implants is associated with high morbidity and mortality. To report a single center experience of extracted leads, we analyzed 42 (11 ICDs and 31 pacemakers) that had been extracted using laser sheath technology at Charleston Area Medical Center between November 2000 and September 2003. The indications for extractions were infection in 48% of the patients (n = 13) and lead malfunction in 52% (n = 14).

Persistent LSVC is the commonest venous anomaly of the thorax and drains into the right atrium via the coronary sinus. Persistent LSVC demonstrates several congenital variations including variable communication with right-sided superior vena cava (SVC), absence of right-sided SVC, drainage into the left atrium creating a right to left shunt, and association with other congenital anomalies of the heart and great vessels.
