This has amplified the importance of quality MSK ultrasound training for medical professionals. View Article and Find Full Text PDFBackground And Objectives: Patients undergoing thalamic ventral intermediate nucleus stimulation to treat essential tremor (ET) develop tolerance over time, requiring higher stimulation amplitudes that lead to more frequent battery changes and suboptimal tremor control. The study objective is to determine whether amplitude tolerance differs between patients with omnidirectional vs directional leads.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective analysis of ET patients with omnidirectional and directional leads implanted between 2005 and 2022.
Objective: This paper presents a preclinical feasibility study to investigate the efficacy of a game-based virtual reality (VR) intervention in the functional training of upper-limb prosthesis use.
Methods: The study compared the skill of 2 able-bodied groups (intervention and control, 5 participants in each group) using a surface electromyography controlled self-experience prosthetic hand and wrist through the Box and Blocks Test (BBT). The Intervention Group followed the game-based VR intervention for 4 weeks and underwent real-life (RL) BBT assessments before and after the intervention using the self-experience prosthesis.
Introduction: Infection after cesarean section is a major contributor to maternal morbidity. Measurement of C-reactive protein (CRP) is a laboratory test frequently conducted to rule out or confirm postoperative infection. The present study aimed to evaluate whether CRP is a suitable tool for ruling out infection after cesarean section and whether there are any reliable cut-off values.

Yet, it currently represents a great challenge to synthetic chemistry. In most cases, the alcohol has to be either pre-activated in situ or converted into a reactive carbonyl intermediate, limiting the substrate scope for some methods.
