Current interpretations of the I-PACE model of behavioral addictions.

Background And Aims: The Interaction of Person-Affect-Cognition-Execution (I-PACE) model of behavioral addictions is used relatively often as a scientific framework to specify research hypotheses and to interpret empirical findings in behavioral addiction research. There are, however, controversial interpretations in the literature regarding some specific elements of the model, which may require a more precise definition of specific constructs and processes that are central to the I-PACE model.

Methods: This is neither a comprehensive literature review nor a proposal for a new version of the I-PACE model.

How Valid Is Bandura's Social Cognitive Theory to Explain Physical Activity Behavior?

(1) Background: Although social cognitive theory (SCT) has been widely tested and applied in numerous interventions aimed at optimizing physical activity behavior, the complete theory has rarely been tested in its entirety. Only selected elements have been tested, and specific samples, some of them pathological, have been studied rather than the general population, for whom a lack of physical activity is a huge problem. The present study addresses these two research gaps and tests the tenability of the theoretical assumptions of SCT to explain physical activity behavior in the general population.

Recurrence in congenital diaphragmatic hernia: A multicenter, postdischarge pilot study.

Background: The Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia Study Group has previously identified factors associated with early hernia recurrence, but multicenter data on postdischarge outcomes were lacking. The purpose of this study is to assess diaphragmatic hernia recurrence rates in the first 5 years of life using a multicenter cohort.

Methods: A database was established with data from 4 centers collected retrospectively at perinatal, discharge, 2 years, and 5 years.

Using expert knowledge and peer review to create a reproducible process for the NAHRS Nursing Essential Resources List (NNERL).

Background: Librarians have relied on resource lists for developing nursing collections, but these lists are usually in static or subscription-based formats. An example of this is the 26th edition of the Essential Nursing Resources last published in 2012. The Nursing and Allied Health Resources and Services (NAHRS) Caucus Nursing Essential Resources List (NNERL) Task Force has been working on a new list since Fall 2020.

Effectiveness of cognitive behavioral therapy for adult mental disorders: A large-scale naturalistic study across 29 university outpatient clinics.

Practice-based evidence has emerged as an important complementary paradigm to studies in controlled trials. This paper presents results of a large research-practice network at German university outpatient clinics; the KODAP initiative. Pre-post effect sizes, direct assessments of change, and rates of clinically significant and reliable improvement are reported in a heterogeneous clinical sample of 6624 adult patients treated between 2023 and 2014 in 29 psychotherapeutic outpatient clinics.
