Background: This study examined the relationship between neurofilament light chain (NfL) and glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) and cognition in people living with HIV (PLWH) at baseline and over time.

Methods: Plasma and clinical data were available from PLWH aged ≥45 years with HIV RNA <200 copies/mL enrolled in the AIDS Clinical Trials Group HAILO cohort study. We measured plasma NfL and GFAP using a single molecule array platform.

Chronic neuropathic pain is underdiagnosed in companion animals. This paper will review the definition of pain and how classification and grading of neuropathic pain can be applied from human to veterinary medicine to increase the recognition of and the confidence in a neuropathic pain diagnosis. The mechanisms of nociception and the pathophysiology of the sensory systems that underlie the transition to chronic pain are described.

Background: Identifying influences on disability accumulation in multiple sclerosis (MS), including modifiable factors other than the core features of disease itself, is vital for clinical care, but has often relied on instruments with acknowledged psychometric shortcomings. We model MS disability using the WHO Disability Assessment Schedule (WHODAS) 2.0, a validated measure based on the WHO's biopsychosocial model and sensitive to the breadth of disability-related domains important to people, to investigate the factors associated with its trajectory after diagnosis.

With global decarbonization urgency for sustainability, enhancing the service stability of liquid metals (LMs) and reducing their oxidation-induced failures are crucial. The oxidation of LMs can adversely affect the fluidity required for hydraulic transmission, thermal management, and other transport scenarios. Given the importance, we have fabricated an LM-based SiC/graphene-Mo nanofluid (LMNF) and compared the rheological behavior to pure LM under an oxidative atmospheric environment.
