Colloid-SEM method for the investigation of magnetic domain structures.

The paper presents scanning electron microscopy (SEM) studies on the magnetic domain structure (DS) using magnetic colloid. The possibility of colloid-SEM method for observing the DS of mono- and polycrystalline samples in the secondary (SEI) and backscattered electrons modes (BEC) is demonstrated. Owing to the large focal depth of SEM, it is possible to observe the overall DS and fine features, even in unpollished samples.

A Novel Scheme of Thermographic Microimaging Using Pyro-Magneto-Optical Indicator Films.

A new method of imaging of temperature distributions is presented. The method is based on the use of a BiLu2 Fe4 GaO12 ferrimagnetic garnet layer as a pyro-magneto-optical detection layer. Thermal imaging with high sensitivity, with micrometer spatial and with millisecond temporal resolution is demonstrated in a contactless read-out scheme.

[The characteristics of the reactions of the abdominal and thoracic components in respiration to progressive hypercapnia].

The total, abdominal and thoracic pneumograms were recorded at resting and in the course of progressing hypercapnia in humans. At the initial stage, the quantitative contribution of either abdominal or thoracic components to the breathing volume was rather individualised.
