Objective: To evaluate the effect of a first aid educational intervention on the aptitude, knowledge, and practices of professionals in early childhood education.

Method: Quasi-experimental study of the pre and post-test type carried out in the brazilian municipality of Três Lagoas, MS. It was developed in three stages: 1) application of an online instrument to assess aptitude, knowledge, and practices about situations that require first aid; 2) educational intervention, with four theoretical meetings online and a face-to-face meeting with practical training; 3) reapplying the questionnaire.

Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) is a powerful technique that can be used to investigate the properties of materials, interfaces, and their redox reactions. It is applied to describe electrochemical systems and support the development of important technologies, offering a much more detailed investigation of properties than other conventional electrochemical techniques. EIS employs a modulated frequency to understand frequency-dependent electrochemical processes, thereby clarifying both fast and slow processes.

Objective: To explore the association between serum levels and food intake of Vitamin D (VD) among healthy women in mid-pregnancy and preeclampsia.

Study Design: In a Brazilian multicentre cohort of healthy nulliparous pregnant women from five maternity centres we developed a nested case-control analysis comparing cases with and without preeclampsia. Women were enrolled and followed during prenatal care, including only singleton pregnancies, without any fetal malformations or previous chronic maternal disease.

The POC-CCA test is subject to variations in reading interpretations depending on the intensity of its results, and trace test reading have implications for determining prevalence. The aim of this study was to assess whether the readings obtained from the POC-CCA tests, conducted using a semi-quantitative scale (the G-score classification for test determination), exhibited concurrence with the direct visual interpretation (positive, negative, or trace) performed by two distinct analysts, using photographs from previously performed POC-CCA test carried out in the municipality of Maruim, in the state of Sergipe-Brazil, a region of high endemicity. The devices used to read the photographs were smartphones, so as to simulate field usage, and a desktop, a tool with higher image quality that would help the researchers in the evaluation and establishment of the final result at a later.

Some oxide-based particulate photocatalyst sheets exhibit excellent activity during the water-splitting reaction. The replacement of oxide photocatalysts with narrow-bandgap photocatalysts based on nonoxides could provide the higher solar-to-hydrogen energy conversion efficiencies that are required for practical implementation. Unfortunately, the activity of nonoxide-based photocatalyst sheets is low in many cases, indicating the need for strategies to improve the quality of nonoxide photocatalysts and the charge transfer process.
