Purpose: To establish a reliable machine learning model to predict malignancy in breast lesions identified by ultrasound (US) and optimize the negative predictive value to minimize unnecessary biopsies.

Methods: We included clinical and ultrasonographic attributes from 1526 breast lesions classified as BI-RADS 3, 4a, 4b, 4c, 5, and 6 that underwent US-guided breast biopsy in four institutions. We selected the most informative attributes to train nine machine learning models, ensemble models and models with tuned threshold to make inferences about the diagnosis of BI-RADS 4a and 4b lesions (validation dataset).

The mechanisms controlling the generation of PbH by reaction of inorganic Pb(II) with aqueous NaBH were investigated both in the presence and in the absence of the additive KFe(CN). For the first time PbH has been identified in analytical chemical vapor generation (CVG) by using gas chromatographic mass spectrometry (GC-MS), which allows the use of deuterium labelled experiments. In the absence of the additive, under reaction conditions typically employed for trace lead determination by CVG, Pb(II) is converted to solid species and no volatile lead species can be detected by either atomic or mass spectrometry for Pb(II) concentration up to 100 mg L.

The vertebrate fossil record of the Pampean Region of Argentina occupies an important place in South American vertebrate paleontology. An abundance of localities has long been the main basis for constructing the chronostratigraphical/geochronological scale for the late Neogene-Quaternary of South America, as well as for understanding major patterns of vertebrate evolution, including the Great American Biotic Interchange. However, few independently-derived dates are available for constraining this record.

Introduction: COVID-19 is a highly infectious respiratory disease that rapidly emerged as an unprecedented epidemic in Europe, with a primary hotspot in Northern Italy during the first months of 2020. Its high infection rate and rapid spread contribute to set the risk for relevant psychological stress in citizens. In this context, mother-infant health is at risk not only because of potential direct exposure to the virus but also due to high levels of stress experienced by mothers from conception to delivery.
