Importance: Adolescent and young adult (AYA) patients with advanced cancer often die in hospital settings. Data characterizing the degree to which this pattern of care is concordant with patient goals are sparse.

Objective: To evaluate the extent of concordance between the preferred and actual location of death among AYA patients with cancer.

In this study, we used the International Atomic Energy Agency Doubly Labeled Water Database to derive a predictive equation for TEE using 6,497 measures of TEE in individuals aged 4 to 96 years.

Background: The treatment and control of malaria in Africa is challenged by drug resistance, including transporter, folate pathway, and PfK13 mutations that mediate resistance to aminoquinolines, antifolates, and artemisinins, respectively.
