The authors give an account of their experience with surgery of relapsing dislocations of the patella in children and adolescents. They evaluate a group of 82 patients (89 knee joints) who were attended and treated at the Orthopaedic Clinic of the Faculty Hospital in Hradec Králové between January 1990 and August 1997. In all patients arthroscopy was made which rendered the diagnosis more accurate and made it possible to select the optimal therapeutic procedure.
