Salicylazosulfapyridine (SASP) is a drug used in the treatment of ulcerative colitis (UC) owing to the therapeutic action of the 5-aminosalicylic acid produced by the splitting of the molecule in the cecum, which also yields the absorbable compound Sulphapyridine (SP).
