Purpose: A clinical conflict often presented with hip fracture patients is whether to proceed with timely surgery or delay surgery until a formal echocardiogram is conducted. This study aimed to assess the impact of incorporating point-of-care lung and cardiac ultrasound (LUCAS) scans as part of the preoperative assessment for hip fracture patients.

Background: Onasemnogene abeparvovec-xioi (OA) has been available since 2019 as a gene replacement therapy for individuals with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) under age two years. We aim to expand upon the sparse knowledge about its safety and clinical efficacy.
Methods: The clinical outcome data of all the individuals with SMA who were treated with gene therapy in four tertiary hospitals in Israel were retrieved and analyzed.
It is important that autistic children be diagnosed as early as possible so their needs can be met and their families can gain important insights into their behavior and interact with them appropriately. However, very few autism screening instruments are appropriate for children who have outgrown early childhood. The Autism Screen for Kids and Youth (ASKY) presents parents of children aged 4-18 years with 30 items that relate to autistic behaviors as defined by the current clinical diagnostic criteria for autism spectrum disorder (-5 ASD).
