POEM for non-achalasia spastic oesophageal motility disorders.

Non-achalasia oesophageal motility disorders (NAOMD) represent a heterogeneous group of rare diseases, including oesophagogastric junction outflow obstruction, distal oesophageal spasm, and hypercontractile oesophagus. Despite the differing aetiological, manometric and pathophysiological characteristics, these disorders are unified by similar clinical presentation, including dysphagia and chest pain. The management of these disorders remain a challenge for the clinician.

Diagnostic accuracy and interobserver agreement of cholangioscopy for indeterminate biliary strictures: A single-center experience.

Background And Study Aims: Characterization of indeterminate biliary strictures (IDBS) still represents a major challenge. Digital single-operator cholangioscopy (DSOC) could potentially overcome limits of conventional biopsy and brush sampling. The aim of this study was to compare diagnostic accuracy of visual evaluation and DSOC-guided biopsies to conventional trans-papillary sampling techniques and to evaluate the inter-observer agreement (IOA) on visual diagnosis.

The Activity of Special Continuity Care Units in the City of Florence During the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Worldwide, countries adopted different strategies in primary care (PC) to cope with the COVID-19 pandemic. This study aims to describe and evaluate the functions and activity load of a specific PC organizational model called "Special Continuity Care Units" (SCCU) in Florence, Italy, and to investigate the characteristics of the COVID-19 patients assisted by the service. The retrospective cross-sectional design used daily updated reports by SCCU team members to evaluate the activity load.

Endoscopic minor papilla sphincterotomy in patients with complete pancreas divisum and acute recurrent pancreatitis: a metanalysis.

Background And Aims: Pancreas divisum (PD) is a congenital variant of the pancreatic ductal system and a potential cause of acute recurrent pancreatitis (ARP). Endoscopic minor papilla sphincterotomy (MiES) is the most common procedure performed in the management of PD-related ARP. The aim of this study is to perform a meta-analysis estimating the efficacy and the safety of MiES in the management of patients with PD-related ARP.
