Systematic Review and Spatiotemporal Assessment of Mercury Concentration in Fish from the Tapajós River Basin: Implications for Environmental and Human Health.

This study reviews the literature on mercury (Hg) pollution in the Tapajós River basin from 1992 to 2022, focusing on the bioaccumulation in fish and the associated health risks to humans via ingesting contaminated species. Variability in Hg bioaccumulation was analyzed from both spatial (sub-basins) and ecological (trophic levels) perspectives. Mercury concentrations in fish muscle tissue and spatial differences in Hg levels were analyzed using nonparametric Kruskal-Wallis ANOVA and mapped with Inverse Distance Weighting.

Variants in GHRL, RETN, and PLIN1 are associated with obesity, diabetes, and metabolic syndrome, and influence food consumption in adults with obesity.

Genetic and environmental factors have important role in the pathogenesis of obesity and metabolic diseases. We hypothesized that genes involved in energy intake, cellular lipid metabolism and pro-inflammatory adipokines influence obesity-related metabolic disturbances and food intake. We explored the association of GHRL (rs26311G>C and rs4684677A>T), PLIN1 (rs2289487G>A and rs894160G>A), RETN (rs3745367C>T and rs7408174G>A), and NAMPT (rs1319501T>C) variants with obesity, metabolic and inflammatory markers, and food intake composition.

Inter-Rater Disagreements in Applying the Montreal Classification for Crohn's Disease: The Five-Nations Survey Study.

Background: The Montreal classification has been widely used in Crohn's disease since 2005 to categorize patients by the age of onset (A), disease location (L), behavior (B), and upper gastrointestinal tract and perianal involvement. With evolving management paradigms in Crohn's disease, we aimed to assess the performance of gastroenterologists in applying the Montreal classification.

Change in management for digital subtraction angiography-identified false-positive traumatic vertebral artery injury.

Background: For patients with suspected traumatic vertebral artery injury (TVAI), CT angiography (CTA) is the first-line screening modality. Digital subtraction angiography (DSA) serves as the confirmatory diagnostic imaging, and is the gold standard for cerebrovascular injury assessment, due to its higher sensitivity and specificity. Among patients with TVAI based on CTA who have undergone follow-up DSA, this study aims to investigate how diagnostic information with additional imaging affects clinical management.

Evaluation of care for people with HIV in Primary Health Care: construct validation.

Objectives: to verify the construct validation of an instrument for evaluating care for people living with HIV in Primary Health Care.

Methods: methodological study carried out in 2021 with 260 health professionals in Recife, PE. Validation based on the internal structure was carried out at this stage using exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, and validity based on item response theory.
