Article Synopsis
  • Sikyungbanha-Tang (SKBHT) is a traditional Chinese medicine used in Korea to treat respiratory inflammation, but evidence of its anti-inflammatory effects is limited.
  • In a study involving a mouse model of acute lung injury, SKBHT showed promise in reducing inflammation by lowering pro-inflammatory cytokines, neutrophil infiltration, and other inflammatory responses induced by LPS.
  • SKBHT's anti-inflammatory action appears to involve the activation of the Nrf2 pathway and the modulation of TNFAIP3, leading to decreased NF-κB activity and reduced inflammatory cytokine expression.
