Cyclopropanes are commonly used as valuable 3-carbon building blocks. Herein, we disclose a different reactivity pattern of furanyl cyclopropanes, which serve as a 4-carbon component in Lewis acid-promoted [4+2] cycloadditions with nitrosoarenes to afford 1,2-oxazine derivatives. Importantly, the regioselectivity of the cycloaddition reaction can be controlled by the appropriate choice of the Lewis acid.

We report the development and characterization of an optical nanosensor for the detection of labile zinc in biological environments. The readout is based on surface-enhanced Raman scattering promoted by a Raman reporter conjugated to the inner plasmonic cavity of hollow silica nanocapsules. We quantify Zn by obtaining the ratio between a Zn-sensitive band and a Zn-insensitive band.

Previous works have argued that future gravitational-wave detectors will be able to probe the properties of astrophysical environments where binaries coalesce, including accretion disks, but also dark matter structures. Most analyses have resorted to a Newtonian modeling of the environmental effects, which are not suited to study extreme-mass-ratio inspirals immersed in structures of ultralight bosons. In this Letter, we use relativistic perturbation theory to consistently study these systems in spherical symmetry.

Background: Discrimination may further impede access to medical care for individuals in socially disadvantaged positions. Sociodemographic information and perceived discrimination intersect and define multiple contexts or strata that condition the risk of refraining from seeking physician's care. By applying analysis of individual heterogeneity and discriminatory accuracy (AIHDA) we aimed to improve the mapping of risk by considering both strata average risk differences and the accuracy of such strata risks for distinguishing between individuals who did or did not refrain from seeking physician's care.
