Introduction: Impaired quality of life (QoL) and premature death in patients with primary non-affective psychotic disorders is related to lifestyle-induced comorbidities. Current municipal health-promoting treatment and care do not embrace the challenges of living with psychotic disorders.
Aim: This cross-sectional study aimed to identify the proportion of outpatients diagnosed with primary psychotic disorders who need health-promoting treatment and care, and who receive municipal health-promoting interventions.
Background: The aim of this study was to purify the major oak pollen allergen, Que a 1, to perform biochemical and immunological characterization of the allergen and to develop an experimental native (n) Que a 1 ImmunoCAP(R).
Methods: Que a 1 was purified from oak pollen extract using affinity chromatography and characterized by SDS-PAGE, two-dimensional (2D) PAGE, mass spectrometry (MS), N-terminal sequencing and specific IgE inhibition on ImmunoCAP. Samples from 16 subjects sensitized to oak pollen were analyzed by ImmunoCAP for IgE reactivity to nQue a 1, and recombinant (r)Bet v 1 and 2 (profilin).
Alternative methods of reducing oxygen during anaerobic enrichment in the Bacteriological Analytical Manual (BAM) Shigella culture method were evaluated and compared to the current and less practical GasPak method. The alternative anaerobic methods included the use of reducing agents in Shigella broth and reducing culture container headspace volume to minimize atmospheric effects on oxygen concentration in Shigella broth during enrichment.
