Audit of B-cell Cancer Genes.

Comprehensive genetic analysis of tumors with exome or whole genome sequencing has enabled the identification of the genes that are recurrently mutated in cancer. This has stimulated a series of exciting advances over the past 15 years, guiding us to new molecular biomarkers and therapeutic targets among the common mature B-cell neoplasms. In particular, diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), follicular lymphoma (FL) and Burkitt lymphoma (BL) have each been the subject of considerable attention in this field.

The FBXO45-GEF-H1 axis controls germinal center formation and B-cell lymphomagenesis.

The role of ubiquitin-mediated degradation mechanisms in the pathogenesis of diffuse large B cell (DLBCL) and follicular lymphoma (FL) is not completely understood. We show that conditional deletion of the E3 ubiquitin ligase Fbxo45 in germinal center B-cells results in B-cell lymphomagenesis in homozygous (100%) and heterozygous (48%) mice. Mechanistically, FBXO45 targets the RHO guanine exchange factor ARHGEF2/GEF-H1 for ubiquitin-mediated degradation.

Socioeconomic status and the risk for colonisation or infection with priority bacterial pathogens: a global evidence map.

Low socioeconomic status likely exacerbates risks for bacterial infections; however, global evidence for this relationship has not been synthesised. We systematically reviewed the existing literature for studies detailing the socioeconomic status of participants and their risk for colonisation or community-acquired infection with priority bacterial pathogens that are increasingly becoming antibiotic resistant. 50 studies from 14 countries reported outcomes by the participants' educational attainment, access to health care, income level, residential crowding status, socioeconomic status deprivation score, community setting, or access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene.

Cortico-limbic volume abnormalities in late life depression are distinct from β amyloid and white matter pathologies.

This study was conducted to clarify patterns of cortico-limbic volume abnormalities in late life depression (LLD) relative to non-depressed (ND) adults matched for amyloid β (Aβ) deposition and to evaluate the relationship of volume abnormalities with cognitive performance. Participants included 116 LLD and 226 ND. Classification accuracy of LLD status was estimated using area under the receiver operator characteristic curve.
