Unlabelled: On-treatment platelet reactivity in clopidogrel-treated patients can be measured with several platelet function tests (PFTs). However, the agreement between different PFTs is only slight to moderate. Polymorphisms of the gene have an impact on the metabolization of clopidogrel and, thereby, have an impact on on-treatment platelet reactivity.

High delayed and missed injury rate after inter-hospital transfer of severely injured trauma patients.

Purpose: Missed injuries are reported in 1.3-65% of all admitted trauma patients. The severely injured patient that needs a higher level of care which requires an inter-hospital transfer has an increased risk for missed injuries.

Background: The cyst of Nuck is a swelling in the inguinal canal caused by a hydrocele of the round ligament. This abnormality is a result of the absence or incomplete obliteration of the processus vaginalis during foetal development.

Case Description: A 44-year-old woman had suffered from a painful swelling in her right groin for 4 years.

The effect of neutral and acidic oligosaccharides on stool viscosity, stool frequency and stool pH in preterm infants.

Aim: To determine the effect of neutral oligosaccharides [small-chain galacto-oligosaccharides/long-chain fructo-oligosaccharides (scGOS/lcFOS)] in combination with acidic oligosaccharides (pAOS) on stool viscosity, stool frequency and stool pH in preterm infants.

Methods: In this explorative RCT, preterm infants with gestational age <32 weeks and/or birth weight <1500 g received enteral supplementation with scGOS/lcFOS/pAOS or placebo (maltodextrin) between days 3 and 30 of life. Stool samples were collected at day 30 after birth.
