Hepatic Arterial Infusion Pump Complication With Multimodal Radiologic and Anatomic Review.

Hepatic arterial infusion therapy involves surgically implanting a subcutaneous hepatic arterial infusion pump with the catheter tip at the hepatic artery. This pump directly delivers chemotherapy to the liver, which may reduce systemic toxicity, improve resectability, and treat unresectable hepatic lesions. This therapy is used in primary or metastatic hepatic malignancies.

PET/MRI evaluation of hepatobiliary tumors.

Positron-emission tomography magnetic resonance imaging (PET/MRI) has emerged as a powerful hybrid molecular imaging technique in clinical practice, overcoming initial technical challenges to provide comprehensive anatomic and metabolic information. This advanced modality combines the superior soft tissue contrast of MRI with the metabolic insights of PET, offering advantages in hepatobiliary imaging, including improved detection of small liver metastases and reduced radiation exposure. The evolution of PET/MRI technology has been marked by significant advancements, such as the development of MRI-compatible PET detectors and sophisticated motion compensation techniques.

Deep learning applications for quantitative and qualitative PET in PET/MR: technical and clinical unmet needs.

We aim to provide an overview of technical and clinical unmet needs in deep learning (DL) applications for quantitative and qualitative PET in PET/MR, with a focus on attenuation correction, image enhancement, motion correction, kinetic modeling, and simulated data generation. (1) DL-based attenuation correction (DLAC) remains an area of limited exploration for pediatric whole-body PET/MR and lung-specific DLAC due to data shortages and technical limitations. (2) DL-based image enhancement approximating MR-guided regularized reconstruction with a high-resolution MR prior has shown promise in enhancing PET image quality.

A framework for tracing timber following the Ukraine invasion.

Scientific testing including stable isotope ratio analysis (SIRA) and trace element analysis (TEA) is critical for establishing plant origin, tackling deforestation and enforcing economic sanctions. Yet methods combining SIRA and TEA into robust models for origin verification and determination are lacking. Here we report a (1) large Eastern European timber reference database (Betula, Fagus, Pinus, Quercus) tailored to sanctioned products following the Ukraine invasion; (2) statistical test to verify samples against a claimed origin; (3) probabilistic model of SIRA, TEA and genus distribution data, using Gaussian processes, to determine timber harvest location.

MRI of Lymphedema.

Lymphedema is a devastating disease that has no cure. Management of lymphedema has evolved rapidly over the past two decades with the advent of surgeries that can ameliorate symptoms. MRI has played an increasingly important role in the diagnosis and evaluation of lymphedema, as it provides high spatial resolution of the distribution and severity of soft tissue edema, characterizes diseased lymphatic channels, and assesses secondary effects such as fat hypertrophy.
