Nω-nitro-l-arginine methyl ester (L-NAME) has been utilized as a nitric oxide synthase antagonist for many years in both basic and clinical research settings to assess its therapeutic potential. Though a number of studies have shown the effect of L-NAME on testicular function, the information regarding the reversibility of these effects upon L-NAME withdrawal is limited. In the present study, male rats (68-80 days old) divided randomly into three groups received different doses of L-NAME, i.

Background: Gallium-68 positron emission tomography (Ga-PET) with the two registered somatostatin analogs, [Ga]Ga-DOTA-Tyr-octreotide ([Ga]Ga-DOTA-TOC) and [Ga]Ga-DOTA-Tyr-octreotate ([Ga]Ga-DOTA-TATE), where DOTA = 1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane-1,4,7,10-tetraacetic acid, is routinely used for imaging of somatostatin receptor (SST)-expressing tumors. We investigated copper-61 (Cu) as an alternative radiometal for PET imaging of SST-expressing tumors. Compared to gallium-68, copper-61 (t = 3.

The demand for PET tracers that target prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) continues to increase. Meeting this demand with approved Ga- and F-labeled PSMA tracers is challenging outside of major urban centers. This is because the short physical half-life of these radionuclides makes it necessary to produce them near their sites of usage.

Background: Neuroblastoma (NB) and pheochromocytoma/paraganglioma (PHEO/PGL) are neuroendocrine tumors. Imaging of these neoplasms is performed by scintigraphy after injection of radiolabeled meta-iodobenzylguanidine (mIBG), a norepinephrine analog taken up by tumoral cells through monoamine transporters. The pharmacological induction of these transporters is a promising approach to improve the imaging and therapy (theranostics) of these tumors.

The emergence and evolution of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) variants that could compromise vaccine efficacy (VE) with re-infections in immunized individuals have necessitated continuous surveillance of VE. Here, the occurrence and dynamics of SARS-CoV-2 infections in the context of vaccination during the second wave of infection in Mumbai were evaluated. RT-PCR cycle threshold (Ct) values of the open reading frame (ORF)/envelope (E)/nucleocapsid (N) genes obtained from a total of 42415 samples, comprising unvaccinated (96.
