Background: The pathogenic distribution of co-infections and immunological status of patients infected with human adenovirus serotypes 3 or 7 (HAdV-3 or HAdV-7) were poorly understood.

Methods: This study involved a retrospective analysis of respiratory specimens collected from enrolled children with lower respiratory tract infections (LRTIs), positive for HAdV-3 or HAdV-7 from January 2017 to December 2019. Demographic data, clinical features, laboratory and radiographic findings were compared to delineate the impact of co-infections, and immune responses on clinical severity of HAdV-3 or HAdV-7 infections.

The design and development of particulate photocatalysts has been an attractive strategy to incorporate earth-abundant metal ions to water splitting devices. Herein, we synthesized CoFe-Prussian blue (PB) coated ZnO origami core-shell nanostructures (PB@ZnO) with different mass ratio of PB components and investigated their photocatalytic water oxidation activities in the presence of an electron scavenger. Photocatalytic experiments reveal that the integration of PB on ZnO boosts the oxygen evolution rate by a factor of ~2.

The transmission of cytoskeletal forces to the extracellular matrix through focal adhesion complexes is essential for a multitude of biological processes, such as cell migration, cell differentiation, tissue development, and cancer progression, among others. During migration, focal adhesions arrest the actin retrograde flow towards the cell interior, allowing the cell front to move forward. Here, we address a puzzling observation of the existence of two distinct phenomena: a biphasic vs a monotonic relationship of the retrograde flow and cell traction force with substrate rigidity.
