Background: Military medical officers (MMOs) and noncommissioned officers (NCOs) serve critical roles within military healthcare teams, and a successful working relationship between them is essential for mission success. The purpose of this study is to explore our participant NCOs' insights into how MMOs and NCOs can foster positive working relationships.

Methods: Utilizing a qualitative existential-phenomenological design, the research team interviewed eight medical NCOs twice through a focus group and individual interviews.

Unlabelled: Patients with myeloid neoplasms with loss-of-function mutations and erythroid differentiation have poor outcomes, and a better understanding of disease biology is required. Upregulation of interferon-γ (IFN-γ) signaling has been associated with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) progression and chemotherapy resistance, but its drivers remain unclear. In this study, we found that the surface receptor C-C motif chemokine receptor-like 2 (CCRL2) is overexpressed in AML with erythroid differentiation and mutations compared to other AML subtypes and healthy hematopoietic cells.

Wildfires can dramatically alter vegetation cover and soil properties across large scales, resulting in substantial shifts in runoff generation, streamflow, and water quality. In September 2020, extensive and high-severity wildfires burned more than 490,000 ha of forest land on the westside of the Cascade Mountain Range in the Pacific Northwest. Much of the area impacted by these fires is critical for the provision of water for downstream aquatic ecosystems, agriculture, hydropower, recreation, and municipal drinking water.

Robotic assisted partial nephrectomy is an effective and minimally invasive approach that has gained significant popularity in the past 20 years. Guidelines support prioritizing partial nephrectomy in small renal masses when technically feasible, given improvement in long term renal function and cardiovascular risk. Increasing surgeon comfort with the robotic platform has allowed for the removal of larger and more complex tumors.

The mechanistic target of rapamycin (mTOR) complexes 1 and 2 (mTORC1/2) are crucial for various physiological functions. Although the role of mTORC1 in retinal pigmented epithelium (RPE) homeostasis and age-related macular degeneration (AMD) pathogenesis is established, the function of mTORC2 remains unclear. We investigated both complexes in RPE health and disease.
