Background: Prior studies of participants with breast and other obesity-associated cancers in the Women's Health Initiative (WHI) showed worse mortality and cardiovascular disease (CVD) outcomes for individuals with a higher number of cardiometabolic risk factors at study entry. The purpose of this analysis is to compare the relationship between cardiometabolic abnormalities and mortality among women with and without cancer in the WHI.

Methods: Women with one of five early-stage obesity-associated cancers (breast, colorectal, endometrial, ovarian, and non-Hodgkin lymphoma) and controls without any new or prior history of cancer were selected from the WHI-Life and Longevity after Cancer ancillary study.

Background: There are increasing concerns of cardiovascular safety related to endocrine therapy use in women with breast cancer (BC). We examined risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) events and mortality associated with endocrine therapy use in postmenopausal women with early-stage BC.

Methods: Postmenopausal women diagnosed with stage I-III hormone receptor-positive BC from 2005 to 2013 were included (n = 8,495).

Objective: Active surveillance (AS) offers a viable alternative to surgical intervention for the management of indolent papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC), helping to minimize the incidence of unnecessary treatment. However, the broader adoption of AS is hindered by the need for more reliable diagnostic markers. This study aimed to identify the differences between indolent and progressive PTC and find new targets for biomarker development and therapeutic strategies.

Hypoxia is an established hallmark of tumorigenesis. HIF-1α activation may be the prime driver of adaptive regulation of tumor cells reacting to hypoxic conditions of the tumor microenvironment. Here, we report a novel regulatory mechanism in charge of the fundamental stability of HIF-1α in solid tumor.

Chrysanthemi Flos (CF), as one of the important 'dual-use' plants, possesses great pharmacological research and development potential. This work aimed to find the pharmacodynamic material basis of CF in cardiovascular-protection by spectrum-effect relationship and component knock-out method. The fingerprint was established by ultra-high performance liquid chromatography and 25 peaks were picked out as common peaks.
