This study aims to investigate the therapeutic potential of herbal remedies, specifically resveratrol and lignans, as alternative treatments for tuberculosis (TB), given the challenges posed by drug-resistant strains and adverse effects of conventional therapies. A comprehensive review of the literature was conducted to analyze the mechanisms of action, safety profiles, and efficacy of resveratrol and lignans in the context of TB management. This review focused on the bactericidal and bacteriostatic effects of these compounds, examining their interaction with Mycobacterium tuberculosis within macrophages.
