Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates how environmental factors like nutrients, water salinity, and predators affect freshwater snail populations in the Napu Valley, Indonesia, an area prone to Schistosomiasis.
  • It measured eight environmental factors across three habitats (seepage, ditch, pond) and found significant variation in snail density, with the highest density in the seepage habitat.
  • The analysis revealed a strong positive correlation between snail presence and water salinity in the ditch habitat, indicating that both abiotic and biotic factors impact snail populations.
