As complex mental health traits and life histories are often poorly captured in hospital systems, the utility of using the Barratt Impulsivity Scale (BIS) and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) for assessing adult disease risks is unknown. Here, we use participants from the Healthy Nevada Project (HNP) to determine if two standard self-assessments could predict the incidence and onset of disease. We conducted a retrospective cohort study involving adult participants who completed the Behavioral and Mental Health Self-Assessment (HDSA) between September 2018 and March 2024.

Models of chicken preadipocyte differentiation in vitro have conventionally used incubators without the ability to control oxygen (O) tension; thus, the cells are exposed to atmospheric (∼20-21%) O, which is supraphysiological compared to the O tension within adipose tissue. The objective of this study was to investigate embryonic broiler preadipocyte differentiation at different O tensions, including atmospheric (20%), physiological (5%), and hypoxic (1%).

The interpretation of cryo-EM maps often includes the docking of known or predicted structures of the components, which is particularly useful when the map resolution is worse than 4 Å. Although it can be effective to search the entire map to find the best placement of a component, the process can be slow when the maps are large. However, frequently there is a well-founded hypothesis about where particular components are located.
