Elasticity Characteristics of Thenar Muscles in Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.

Objective: Measurement of thenar muscle elasticity by ultrasound shear wave elastography (SWE) may be useful for the diagnosis and evaluation of carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS), but there is a paucity of information on SWE of the thenar muscles in patients with CTS. The purpose of this study was to investigate the elasticity of the thenar muscles in patients with CTS.

Methods: Twenty-two adult patients with a referral diagnosis of CTS (27 hands) and 20 healthy volunteers as a control (20 dominant hands) participated in this study.

International Consensus Guidance for the Management of Glucocorticoid Related Complications in Neuromuscular Disease.

Introduction/aims: Glucocorticoid (GC)-related adverse reactions and risks are commonly seen during the treatment of immune-mediated and inflammatory neuromuscular disorders. There is wide variation in the management of associated complications. The aim of this study is to develop international consensus guidance on the management of GC-related complications in neuromuscular disorders.

Intrathecal delivery of adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells in traumatic spinal cord injury: Phase I trial.

Intrathecal delivery of autologous culture-expanded adipose tissue-derived mesenchymal stem cells (AD-MSC) could be utilized to treat traumatic spinal cord injury (SCI). This Phase I trial (ClinicalTrials.gov: NCT03308565) included 10 patients with American Spinal Injury Association Impairment Scale (AIS) grade A or B at the time of injury.
