Introduction: Cruciate retaining and posterior stabilizing knee systems are frequently used in total knee replacements. Most researchers compare the results of Cruciate Retaining (CR) and Posterior Stabilizing (PS) knees with those of a control group. The results of using both knee systems in a single patient in simultaneous Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA) have been studied less.

Anesthetic management of patients with mitochondrial disease requires an in-depth knowledge and understanding of its pathophysiology to ensure the safe conduct of anesthesia. Our case report illustrates the importance of careful anesthetic planning and execution for a four-year-old undergoing full mouth rehabilitation. It is essential to avoid factors that increase metabolic stress, such as prolonged fasting, hypoglycemia, postoperative nausea, hypothermia, acidosis, hypovolemia, and ischemic or hypoxic events.

Taylor-Couette flow is a canonical flow to study Taylor-Görtler (TG) instability or centrifugal instability and the associated vortices. TG instability has been traditionally associated with flow over curved surfaces or geometries. In the computational study, we confirm the presence of TG-like near-wall vortical structures in two lid-driven flow systems, the Vogel-Escudier (VE) and the lid-driven cavity (LDC) flows.

Background: Human dental plaque is a complex microbial community containing millions of species. Gingivitis is a dysregulated immune-inflammatory response induced by dysbiotic plaque biofilm that interrupts symbiosis. The emergence of next-generation sequencing with 16S rRNA gene has greatly contributed in understanding the complexity of microbiota.
