Background: The Anterior Cruciate Ligament-Quality of Life (ACL-QoL) questionnaire is a valid and reliable injury-specific instrument to assess the impact of an ACL rupture on the daily life of a patient.

Combinatorial therapeutic approaches of photodynamic therapy and immune checkpoint blockade for colon cancer treatment.

Photodynamic therapy (PDT) has shown impressive therapeutic effects on various types of cancers by reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation and induction of immune responses. However, under certain conditions, the immune responses induced by PDT are not always sufficient to eradicate the remaining tumor cells. On the other hand, the photosensitizer indocyanine green (ICG) can mediate PDT under near-infrared (NIR) illumination, thereby enhancing the penetration depth of the excitation light into the tumor.

Identification of Hip and Knee Joint Impedance During the Swing Phase of Walking.

Knowledge on joint impedance during walking in various conditions is relevant for clinical decision-making and the development of robotic gait trainers, leg prostheses, leg orthotics and wearable exoskeletons. Whereas ankle impedance during walking has been experimentally assessed, knee and hip joint impedance during walking have not been identified yet. Here we developed and evaluated a lower limb perturbator to identify hip, knee and ankle joint impedance during treadmill walking.

Variations in 2-Minute Walk Test outcomes for people with lower limb amputation in the outpatient clinic and research settings.

Background: This study determined the differences in 2-Minute Walk Test (2MWT) distances between people with lower limb amputations in clinical and research settings and described variations in test administration in various clinical settings.

Study Design: Retrospective Cross-sectional design.

Methods: The 2MWT for 290 patients with lower limb amputations were obtained from a medium-sized prosthetic company with locations within the central United States.

Standard MRI May Not Predict Specific Acute Anterior Cruciate Ligament Rupture Characteristics.

Background: There has been renewed interest in the concept of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) suture repair (ACLSR). Morphologic characteristics of the ruptured ACL remnant play a role in deciding whether a patient is eligible for ACLSR. However, no classification of these characteristics of ACL rupture on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans has yet been compared with intraoperative findings in the context of ACLSR.
