Introduction: Fast melt tablets (FMTs) provide a convenient dosage form that rapidly dissolves on the tongue without the need for water. Cocoa butter serves as a suitable matrix system for FMTs formulation, facilitating rapid disintegration at body temperature.

Objectives: This study aimed to formulate FMTs using cocoa butter as a base and investigate the effect of various disintegrants and superdisintegrants on their characteristics.

Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates the effectiveness of FEMORA® software in measuring femoral anteversion angle (FAA) in children with spastic cerebral palsy, aiming to reduce radiation exposure compared to CT scans.
  • Conducted on 36 patients at Dr. Soetomo Hospital, the study found that the average FAA measurements from FEMORA® were significantly correlated with those from CT scans (correlation coefficient of 0.634), indicating its potential effectiveness.
  • The results suggest that FEMORA® software could be a reliable alternative for assessing FAA, showing good interobserver reliability (ICC of 0.918), potentially minimizing carcinogenic risks associated with CT imaging.

Background: Luteolin is a flavonoid compound that has been widely studied for its various anti-cancer properties and sensitization to multidrug-resistant cells. However, the limited solubility and bioavailability of Lut hindered its potential clinical use. Theoretically, the combination of this compound with vitamin E TPGS and poloxamer 407 can produce a synergistic effect to enhance tumor apoptosis and P-glycoprotein inhibition.

Cancer is a second leading disease-causing death worldwide that will continuously grow as much as 70% in the next 20 years. Chemotherapy is still becoming a choice for cancer treatment despite its severity of side effects and low success rate due to ineffective delivery of the chemodrugs. Since it was introduced in 1960, significant progress has been achieved in the use of liposomes in drug delivery.
