Background: Primary and revision arthroplasty has emerged as an alternative option for the treatment of distal femoral fractures. The purpose of this study was to identify any trends in the management of distal femoral fractures among American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS) Part II Candidates with regard to the utilization of open reduction internal fixation (ORIF) versus total joint arthroplasty and to investigate the complications associated with these two treatment strategies.

Methods: This was a retrospective cohort study of the ABOS Part II Oral Examination Case List Database which was queried between the years 2003 and 2021.

Repeated mRNA COVID-19 vaccination increases spike-specific immunoglobulin G4 (IgG4) titers. Here, we characterized the influence of increased IgG4 titers on a range of Fc-mediated responses. Elevated spike-specific IgG4 reduced binding to FcγRIIIa and decreased antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity.

Objective: The need for clear and actionable guidelines for the promotion and protection of mental health in organised community sport has previously been identified. This study aimed to provide guidelines to promote and protect mental health in organised community sport in Australia.

Methods: Guideline development was informed by (1) systematic reviews of the evidence pertaining to existing mental health guidelines in sport and mental health interventions in community sport; (2) an expert Delphi consensus study and (3) key stakeholder input via focus groups.
