Adsorption of Methylene Blue on Activated Carbon Surfaces Obtained by Shock Compression of Graphite Using Reactive Molecular Dynamics.

This study explores the formation of functionalized carbon surfaces through shock compression of graphite in the presence of water, modeled using molecular dynamics and the ReaxFF reactive force field. The shock compression method produces activated carbon with surface functionalities, primarily hydroxyl groups, and varying morphological properties. Two approaches, unidirectional and isotropic compression, yield distinct surface structures: the former preserves a relatively flat surface, while the latter generates corrugated features with valleys and ridges.

Identifying transdiagnostic traumatic stress reactions in U.S. military veterans: A nationally representative study.

Traumatic stress reactions (TSRs) exist on a continuum that includes posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), highly comorbid psychopathology, and resilience, highlighting the need for comprehensive and integrative approaches capable of capturing the full spectrum of heterogeneous reactions. Here, we used a transdiagnostic and multidimensional method to characterize clinical phenotypes of TSRs in a nationally representative sample of U.S.

Trauma-related nightmares among U.S. veterans: Findings from a nationally representative study.

Study Objectives: Trauma-exposed veterans may be at an increased risk for nightmares. To date, however, no known study has examined the prevalence, risk factors, and comorbidities of nightmares in a nationally representative sample of veterans.

Methods: A nationally representative sample of 4069 US military veterans completed a survey that assessed trauma-related nightmares, health histories, and functioning.
