Ibrutinib represents the first approved treatment for patients with Waldenström macroglobulinemia (WM). There are very few published experiences outside of a clinical trial. In this study, we investigated treatment response, survival, and safety in a real life setting.

Recently, self-heating consumer pressure cookers have found reinvigorated use with consumers wanting faster, more convenient, and healthier cooking. With the increased popularity, injury reports have also increased. Hazards associated with dispersion from pressurized vessels, although qualitatively understood through elementary scientific principles, have not been experimentally characterized in the literature, nor has the human ability to respond to a sudden dispersion of contents been directly reviewed.

Acupuncture in shoulder pain and functional impairment after neck dissection: A prospective randomized pilot study.

Objectives/hypothesis: The efficacy of conventional physiotherapy and antiinflammatory/analgesic drugs in the management of shoulder pain and functional disability following neck dissection is often disappointing. Acupuncture is a safe and well-tolerated method. We report the results regarding our pilot trial of acupuncture versus conventional care in the management of postoperative shoulder pain and dysfunction after neck dissection.

States of the Dirac equation in confining potentials.

We study the Dirac equation in confining potentials with pure vector coupling, proving the existence of metastable states with longer and longer lifetimes as the nonrelativistic limit is approached and eventually merging with continuity into the Schrödinger bound states. The existence of these states could concern high energy models and possible resonant scattering effects in systems like graphene. We present numerical results for the linear and the harmonic cases and we show that the density of the states of the continuous spectrum is well described by a sum of Breit-Wigner lines.
