Some aspects of the etiology and the pathogenesis of chronic pancreatitis.

The development of modern technology and advances in medical science make possible understanding of etiology of chronic pancreatitis. From a century ago, the ethanol is connected to chronic pancreatitis. In the last decades medical science made a big footstep in understanding of so called "idiopathic pancreatitis".

[Mini-invasive approach in the treatment of acute necrotizing pancreatitis].

Objectives: The study aims to evaluate the efficacy of percutaneous necrosectomy performed under ultrasound control and endoscopic necrosectomy trough secondary sinus track (ENTSST) using nephroscope and cystoscope.

Material And Method: Puncture of fluid collections in the pancreas was performed under ultrasonographic control to 23 patients with acute necrotizing pancreatitis (ANP). ENTSST using nephroscope and cystoscope was performed to 47 patients after open or percutaneous necrosectomy and persistent sepsis (without satellite collection of CT).

[Prognostic factors for survival in primary liver cancer].

Background: The aim of this study was to identify the prognostic factors of survival after curative resection of primary liver cancer (PLC).

Study Design: Thirty four patients underwent resection PLC between January 1991 and December 2000. Univariate and multivariable analysis were used to retrospectively identify factors associated with overall survival when resection was curative for primary tumor.
