This report is the first comprehensive update on the activities of existing epilepsy-pregnancy registries since 2010. The primary aim of these registries, which were initiated by independent international research groups some 25 years ago, has been to assess the risk of major congenital malformations (MCMs) in offspring exposed in utero to different antiseizure medications (ASMs). Progress reports are provided here from the five original registries (the International Registry of Antiepileptic Drugs and Pregnancy EURAP, the North American Antiepileptic Drug Pregnancy Registry, the UK and Ireland Epilepsy and Pregnancy Register, the Kerala Registry of Epilepsy and Pregnancy, and the Raoul Wallenberg Australian Pregnancy Register of Antiepileptic Drugs) plus the more recently initiated West China Registry.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFObjectives: Data are lacking regarding the long-term consequences of SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19 mRNA vaccine on infants exposed in utero. We aimed to evaluate the neurodevelopment of infants exposed prenatally to SARS-CoV-2 or mRNA-COVID-19 vaccine during pregnancy at 12 months after birth.
Methods: Infants born to mothers exposed to SARS-CoV-2 or mRNA-COVID-19 vaccine during pregnancy, or unexposed to either the virus or the vaccine were enrolled from 2021 to 2023.
RNA transcripts are potential therapeutic targets, yet bacterial transcripts have uncharacterized biodiversity. We developed an algorithm for transcript prediction called tp.py using it to predict transcripts (mRNA and other RNAs) in K12 and E2348/69 strains (Bacteria:gamma-Proteobacteria), strains Scott A and RO15 (Bacteria:Firmicute), strains SG17M and NN2 strains (Bacteria:gamma-Proteobacteria), and (Archaea:Halobacteria).
View Article and Find Full Text PDFPurpose: The Breast Radiotherapy Audio Visual Enhancement for sparing the Heart (BRAVEHeart) trial prospectively randomized patients with left-sided breast cancer to 1 of 2 deep inspiration breath hold biofeedback devices: a novel chest surface tracking system and an abdominal block tracking system. The primary hypothesis was that the accuracy of chest tracking would be higher than that of abdominal tracking as the chest is a more direct surrogate of the breast target.
Methods And Materials: Patients with left-sided breast cancer were treated in deep inspiration breath hold with intensity modulated radiation therapy delivery.
