Intrathoracic ectopic kidney is an extremely rare congenital defect that is frequently identified by accident because it is asymptomatic. Even more unusual is its link to pulmonary sequestration alone. This case report describes the clinical presentation of a 7-month-old child with a history of recurrent respiratory distress and chest infections since birth, who had shortness of breath, failure to thrive, and delayed developmental milestones.

Introduction And Objectives: Noninvasive liver assessment in type 2 diabetes (T2DM) in a primary care population identifies higher risk non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). We aimed to evaluate the association of T2DM with liver fibrosis and steatosis by transient elastography (TE).

Aims: This short study was performed to better understand the time frame associated with changes in SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid testing and provide recommendations for repeat testing. Recommendations are useful as little guidance is available for repeat testing in patients being followed expectantly for changes in disease.

Methods: A review of laboratory data of tests for SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid was performed selecting patients who had changing results.

This article reviews the collaboration between clinician and illustrator throughout the ages while highlighting the era of cardiac surgery. Historical notes are based on Professor Sanjib Kumar Ghosh's extensive review, literature searches, and the archives of the Johns Hopkins University Department of Art as related to Medicine in Baltimore. Personal communications were explored with medical illustrators and medical practitioners, many of whom are colleagues and trainees, to further chronicle the history of medical illustration and education in the era of cardiac surgery.
