Integrated Pest Management (IPM) provides a powerful framework for addressing threats to human well-being caused by nuisance species including invasives. We examined the hypothesis that adaptive management could erode barriers to IPM implementation by developing a decision-analytic adaptive management framework for invasive sea lamprey (Petromyzon marinus) IPM in the Laurentian Great Lakes of North America. The framework addressed objectives associated with coordinating multiple sea lamprey control actions at the regional scale and objectives associated with internal validity of control actions.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAim: Extending faecal immunochemical tests for haemoglobin (FIT) to all primary care patients with symptoms suggestive of colorectal cancer (CRC) could identify people who are likely to benefit from colonoscopy and facilitate earlier treatment. The aim of this work was to investigate the diagnostic accuracy of FIT across different analysers at different thresholds, as a single test or in duplicate (dual FIT).
Method: This systematic review and meta-analysis searched 10 sources (December 2022).

- The study aimed to assess how well certain biomarkers in blood (sNfL, sGFAP) and cerebrospinal fluid (cNfL, cGFAP) can predict long-term disability outcomes in Multiple Sclerosis (MS) patients after over 15 years of follow-up.
- Results showed that while cNfL and cGFAP were good predictors of confirmed disability worsening (CDW), sGFAP was not effective on its own.
- The combination of cNfL and cGFAP provided better predictions for CDW compared to either biomarker alone, suggesting these biomarkers could work together to indicate patient prognosis in MS.
