Energy-Efficient UAVs Deployment for QoS-Guaranteed VoWiFi Service.

This paper formulates a new problem for the optimal placement of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) geared towards wireless coverage provision for Voice over WiFi (VoWiFi) service to a set of ground users confined in an open area. Our objective function is constrained by coverage and by VoIP speech quality and minimizes the ratio between the number of UAVs deployed and energy efficiency in UAVs, hence providing the layout that requires fewer UAVs per hour of service. Solutions provide the number and position of UAVs to be deployed, and are found using well-known heuristic search methods such as genetic algorithms (used for the initial deployment of UAVs), or particle swarm optimization (used for the periodical update of the positions).

The risk of developing a lymphoproliferative disease associated with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) has been a controversial issue for decades; it is debatable whether the risk is associated with the chronic inflammation of IBD per se or its treatment, especially with thiopurine drugs (azathioprine and mercaptopurine) and anti-TNF-α agents. We present an unusual case of a 35-year-old man who had been diagnosed with Crohn's disease at age 17 and treated with azathioprine, presenting years later with an intestinal Hodgkin's lymphoma.

[Quality of the pharmacotherapeutic recommendations for the integrated care procedures in Andalusia].

Objectives: To evaluate the quality of the pharmacotherapeutic recommendations included in the Integrated Care Procedures (PAIs regarding its initials in Spanish) of the Andalusian Ministry of Health, published up to March 2008, through the design and validation of a tool.

Methods: The assessment tool was designed based on similar instruments, specifically the AGREE. Other criteria included were taken from various literature sources or were devised by ourselves.

Background: The metabolic syndrome (MS) is associated with insulin resistance (IR), a systemic low-grade inflammatory state and endothelial dysfunction. These disorders may arise at a very early age in obese children. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between endothelial dysfunction and both IR and inflammation in prepubertal obese children.
