Objectives: The 2020-2021 American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy Faculty Affairs Standing Committee (FASC) was charged with identifying how faculty can self-advocate and promote themselves in a social influence context.

Findings: The FASC identified social influence and persuasion theories and strategies that can be used by faculty to initiate self-advocacy discussions and collaborations. Social influence and persuasion theories can provide a framework for research and scholarship or for beginning discussions regarding self-advocacy.

Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), an emerging class of toxic anthropogenic chemicals persistent in the environment, are currently regulated at the low part-per-trillion level worldwide in drinking water. Quantification and screening of these compounds currently rely primarily on liquid chromatography hyphenated to mass spectrometry (LC-MS). Effective quantitative analysis of BMAA (β-N-methylamino-L-alanine) and its isomers without the need for derivatization has always been an analytical challenge due to their poor retention and separation on various liquid chromatography stationary phases. Previous studies that utilized conventional hydrophilic interaction chromatography (HILIC) demonstrate false negatives compared to reverse-phase workflows with derivatization. This work evaluates the chromatographic behavior of BMAA and its isomers, in their underivatized forms, on selected stationary phases, in particular fluorophenyl-based columns, to attain effective retention and separation.

Purpose: Stigmatized attitudes towards people with mental illness from healthcare providers continues to be a problem affecting recovery in people with mental illness. The process of recovery was explored through digital stories created by service users, with support from nursing students. Stigmatized attitudes in nursing students and stigma resistance in service users were also investigated.
