Biological material and health information from patients are valuable for medical research. Under a "broad" consent model, hospital patients in Norway can consent to their biological material and health information being stored in research biobanks and used for "specific, broadly defined research purposes" within a specified medical research area but not for medical research in general. Patients are asked to provide new consent each time researchers wish to use their material in a different medical research area.

Results from a needs assessment conducted by nursing professional development practitioners across several clinics in the Midwest showed current educational methods to prepare for medical emergencies were insufficient. A champion model was used to complete in situ medical emergency response simulations. This proved to be an effective method for staff preparation when resources were limited and identified opportunities for practice improvement.

Purpose: Passive Radiotherapy Intensity Modulators for Electrons (PRIME) devices are comprised of cylindrical tungsten island blocks imbedded in a machinable foam slab within the patient's cutout. Intensity-modulated bolus electron conformal therapy (IM-BECT) uses PRIME devices to reduce dose heterogeneity caused by the irregular bolus surface. Heretofore, IM-BECT dose calculations used the pencil beam redefinition algorithm (PBRA) assuming perfect collimation.
