Telemedicine is a potential complementary modality with remarkable benefits for future healthcare delivery when incorporated appropriately. This review article examines the importance of telemedicine in various types of healthcare facilities and its utility in remote and underserved settings. PubMed, Google Scholar, Scopus, and Embase databases were used for the literature review.

Unlabelled: Aggressive breast cancers harbor TP53 missense mutations. Tumor cells with TP53 missense mutations exhibit enhanced growth and survival through transcriptional rewiring. To delineate how TP53 mutations in breast cancer contribute to tumorigenesis and progression in vivo, we created a somatic mouse model driven by mammary epithelial cell-specific expression of Trp53 mutations.

An Analysis of Clinical Outcomes of Exploratory Pediatric Metformin Ingestions Reported to the Texas Poison Center Network From 2011 to 2021.

Poison centers develop triage threshold guidelines for pediatric metformin ingestions. Our network uses 1700 mg, or 85 mg/kg. To describe the dose, clinical course, and outcomes for inadvertent metformin ingestions in children 5 years old and younger reported to our statewide poison center network.

Novel Homozygous Variants and Associated Disease Phenotypes in Dogs with Dermatosparactic Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.

Tissue fragility, skin hyperextensibility and joint hypermobility are defining characteristics of Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS). Human EDS is subclassified into fourteen types including dermatosparactic EDS, characterized by extreme skin fragility and caused by biallelic mutations. We report two novel, variants in DNA from EDS-affected dogs.

Omics analyses of a somatic breast cancer model identify cooperating driver events activating PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling.

Alterations of the tumor suppressor , one of the most common events in cancer, alone are insufficient for tumor development but serve as drivers of transformation. We sought to identify cooperating events through genomic analyses of a somatic mouse model (equivalent to the hot spot mutation in human cancers) that recapitulates metastatic breast-cancer development. We identified cooperating lesions similar to those found in human breast cancers.
