The Effect of Gender Ideal Adherence on Carer Burden and Help-Seeking in Male Carers of People With Multiple Sclerosis.

Background: Multiple sclerosis is a chronic neurological disease that is commonly diagnosed in middle age and disproportionately affects women. Consequently, middle-aged men (as partners and husbands) are often the caregivers, a unique group in comparison with carers for people with other long-term neurological conditions, who are predominately women. Previous research has indicated that male carers respond differently from their female counterparts in terms of carer burden.

Acalabrutinib in combination with rituximab and lenalidomide in patients with relapsed or refractory follicular lymphoma: Results of the phase 1b open-label study (ACE-LY-003).

Patients with relapsed/refractory (R/R) follicular lymphoma (FL) have limited effective treatment options. Bruton tyrosine kinase inhibitors (BTKis) increase the anti-tumoural phenotype of tumour-associated macrophages, providing rationale to combine them with rituximab and lenalidomide (R). Acalabrutinib, a second-generation BTKi, has potential to improve R efficacy without increasing T-cell-mediated toxicity due to its lack of interleukin-2-inducible T-cell kinase inhibition.

Development, reliability, validity, and acceptability of the remote administration of the Edinburgh Cognitive and Behavioural ALS Screen (ECAS).

Background: ALS clinical care and research has changed dramatically since the COVID-19 pandemic, accelerating the need for cognitive assessments to be adapted for remote use.

Objectives: To develop the remote administration method of the Edinburgh Cognitive and Behavioural ALS Screen (ECAS), and determine its reliability and validity. Methods: The validation process consisted of: (1) Two versions of the ECAS (A and B) were administered, one in-person and one remotely via video call in a randomized order to 27 people without ALS; (2) The ECAS was administered remotely to 24 pwALS, with a second rater independently scoring performance; and (3) Acceptability was assessed by gathering feedback from 17 pwALS and 19 clinicians and researchers about their experience of using the ECAS remotely.

Anti-B-Cell Maturation Antigen BiTE Molecule AMG 420 Induces Responses in Multiple Myeloma.

Purpose: The anti-B-cell maturation antigen BiTE molecule AMG 420 was assessed in patients with relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma.

Patients And Methods: In this first-in-human study, up to 10 cycles of AMG 420 were given (4-week infusions/6-week cycles). Patients had progression after ≥ 2 lines of prior therapy and no extramedullary disease.

Our disease: a qualitative meta-synthesis of the experiences of spousal/partner caregivers of people with multiple sclerosis.

Purpose: To provide a unique and conceptually comprehensive account of the lived experiences of caregiving spouses/partners of people with multiple sclerosis, which can be used to better enable health professionals to provide appropriate support services.

Method: A systematic review of qualitative studies reporting the experiences of caregiving spouses/partners was conducted. Relevant articles were identified and analysed using a meta-ethnographic synthesis.
