This study investigated the impact of online psychological flexibility training and support provided by peers on self-rated health (SRH) and health-related quality of life (HRQoL) among adults with overweight. It was a secondary analysis of a single-arm multi-center intervention study that was conducted in a real-life context. In a 2-years acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) lifestyle intervention, participants ( = 177) engaged in online ACT activities while receiving support from trained peers.

Background: There is an urgent need to replace fossil-based fuels and chemicals with bio-based, renewable alternatives. Water content is a critical parameter in these liquid products since water affects their quality and properties. However, currently existing methods for bio-oil water content determination have limitations and thus, there is a need to find methods that are versatile, work for a wide water content and sample consistency range repeatably and reliably and are safe for the user and the environment.

Objective: Persistent physical symptoms (PPS) represent a major health problem affecting daily functioning. This RCT aimed to examine whether a guided Internet-based treatment based on acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) provided additional benefits compared to Treatment as Usual (TAU) in reducing somatic complaints and psychological distress in adults with PPS.

Methods: A total of 103 adults with PPS related to indoor environments, chronic fatigue or both conditions were assigned to receive either either a 14-week intervention (video-based case conceptualization + Internet-based ACT) combined with TAU (iACT + TAU; n = 50) or TAU alone (n = 53).

Accuracy of Dental Restorations Fabricated Using Milling vs 3D-Printed Molds: A Pilot Study.

Purpose: To compare the accuracy of 12 different dental restorations fabricated with milling or 3D-printed molds and robotically controlled casting.

Materials And Methods: Twelve dental restorations (11 inlays and onlays and 1 crown) were made per restoration type, one per each of the 12 different teeth models (total of 24 restorations). On each tooth preparation, two restorations were manufactured using different CAD/ CAM techniques: (1) milling and (2) robotically controlled casting and 3D-printed molds.

Parasites infecting red blood cells are auxotrophic for several nutrients, and mounting evidence suggests that various metabolites act as direct substrates for epigenetic modifications, with their abundance directly relating to changes in parasite gene expression.
