With the publication of CALGB 140503, an increase in wedge resections for small, peripheral non-small cell lung cancer is expected; however, a relative paucity of data exists as to what defines a high quality oncologic wedge resection. The Thoracic Surgery Outcomes Research Network (ThORN), through expert discussion, guided by review of what limited data does exist, and through use of a modified Delphi process, provides these consensus statements defining an oncologically sound, high quality wedge resection. The statements are classified into five categories: 1) Preoperative Considerations 2) Technical Aspects 3) Lymph Node Assessment 4) Margin Assessment and 5) Tissue Handling by Pathology.

Background: Providing youth the opportunity to express their attitudes toward and recommendations for improvement of a home-based physical activity (PA) program may help to improve engagement in virtual PA program activities. Youth voice is an often-overlooked component that may be necessary for understanding what contributes to low participation and may have important implications for long-term adherence.

Purpose: Informed by Self-Determination Theory, this study aimed to formatively evaluate home-based exercise videos, incorporating youth feedback for improvement in the development of the videos.

Background: A systematic adaptation of an evidence-based state health curriculum (Michigan Model for Health™, MMH) was created to enhance physical activity and family engagement materials but retain the core functional elements of the curriculum.

Methods: The Framework for Reporting Adaptations and Modifications-Enhanced (FRAME) was used to document the adaptation, which used materials from an evidence-informed physical activity program (Interrupting Prolonged sitting with ACTivity, InPACT). Acceptability, appropriateness, feasibility, and perceived value of the adaptation were assessed by key stakeholders, regional school health coordinators (HCs).

Unlabelled: Cerebrovascular networks contain a unique region of interconnected capillaries known as the blood-brain barrier (BBB). Positioned between upstream arteries and downstream veins, these microvessels have unique structural features, such as the absence of vascular smooth muscle cells (vSMCs) and a relatively thin basement membrane, to facilitate highly efficient yet selective exchange between the circulation and the brain interstitium. This vital role in neurological health and function has garnered significant attention from the scientific community and inspired methodology for enriching BBB capillaries.
