Purpose: Diagnostic imaging interpretations by nonphysician practitioners (NPPs) are increasing. With hospital-based imaging overwhelmingly interpreted by radiologists, we studied office-based interpretations by NPPs by their physician employer specialty.

Methods: Linking Medicare claims and provider datasets, we identified imaging interpretation claims submitted by nurse practitioners and physician assistants (together NPPs) in office settings, mapping NPPs to physician employer specialties, and assessed NPP characteristics and practice patterns.

Background: Recent radiologist compensation and clinical productivity trends have not been well characterized, especially across academic versus nonacademic practice settings.

Purpose: To assess recent trends in in financial compensation and clinical productivity between academic and nonacademic settings in diagnostic radiology (DR) and interventional radiology (IR).

Materials And Methods: We studied deidentified data from the Medical Group Management Association for both DR and IR physicians in academic and nonacademic practices from 2014 to 2023.

Purpose: Increasing volumes and productivity expectations, along with practice type consolidation, may be impacting trainees' roles in the work effort of radiologists involved in education. We assessed temporal shifts in trainee participation in radiologists' workload nationally.

Methods: All US radiologists interpreting noninvasive diagnostic imaging for Medicare fee-for-service beneficiaries were identified from annual 5% Research Identifiable Files from 2008 to 2020 (n = 35,595).
