- In a study comparing 100 patients with chronic pain to a control group without pain, it was found that patients with pain had significantly higher rates of psychiatric disorders (88% vs. 48%), with anxiety and depression being the most common.
- The findings indicate a strong relationship between chronic pain and mental health issues, highlighting the need for integrated approaches to treatment that address both pain management and mental health support.

Background: There is a remarkable variability in the frequency of HLA-B27 positivity in patients with spondyloarthritis (SpA), which may be associated with different clinical presentations worldwide. However, there is a lack of data considering ethnicity and sex on the evaluation of the main clinical and prognostic outcomes in mixed-race populations.
