The maintenance of a healthy epithelial-endothelial juxtaposition requires cross-talk within glomerular cellular niches. We sought to understand the spatially-anchored regulation and transition of endothelial and mesangial cells from health to injury in DKD. From 74 human kidney samples, an integrated multi-omics approach was leveraged to identify cellular niches, cell-cell communication, cell injury trajectories, and regulatory transcription factor (TF) networks in glomerular capillary endothelial (EC-GC) and mesangial cells.

Dental appointments in the primary health care setting for users with toothache: a longitudinal analysis.

This study aimed to estimate the morbidity associated with toothache treated in the primary health care (PHC) setting, stratified by the population size of Brazilian municipalities, from 2018 to 2022. This longitudinal ecological study was based on public national data from routine public dental service utilization records within the Health Information System for Primary Care. These data were employed to compute the rate of dental appointments for users with toothache (per 1,000 users) within each municipality throughout 15 four-month periods (P1-2018 to P3-2022), classified by population size.

Growth Differentiation Factor 15 (GDF15) is an emerging biomarker that significantly increases during acute stress responses, such as infections, and is moderately elevated in chronic and inflammation-driven conditions. While evidence suggests that high levels of GDF15 in cardiac surgery are associated with worse outcomes, its utility as an evaluator of early postoperative complications remains unclear. This study aims to characterize the postoperative profile of GDF15 in patients undergoing isolated surgical aortic valve replacement, evaluating its association with short-term outcomes.

Introduction: Gastric cancer (GC) burden is currently evolving with regional differences associated with complex behavioural, environmental, and genetic risk factors. The LEGACy study is a Horizon 2020-funded multi-institutional research project conducted prospectively to provide comprehensive data on the tumour biological characteristics of gastroesophageal cancer from European and LATAM countries.
