Background: Induction of puberty in boys with constitutional delay of growth and puberty (CDGP) through a short course of low-dose testosterone therapy indicates the critical interaction between testosterone and the androgen receptor (AR) during the activation and maturation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis at puberty onset. Previous studies have shown an inverse relationship between the CAG repeat length and the transactivation function or expression level of the AR gene.
Objective: We aimed to investigate whether the AR CAG repeat polymorphism has any implications on pubertal delay.
Background: NR5A1 [Steroidogenic factor 1 (SF1)] is a nuclear receptor that is essential for the development of gonads and adrenal glands as well as the establishment of steroidogenesis in these organs. The clinical findings of the mutations of NR5A1 gene in 46, XY individuals are variable. Virilization at puberty can be seen in some of the 46, XY children who have a female phenotype and are raised as female.

Patients And Methods: This retrospective study was conducted in four tertiary care centers in Turkey. The records of patients diagnosed with CPHD (n=39) and severe IGHD (n=50) were collected.
A series of hydrazide-hydrazones, based on a series of 4-substituted benzoic acid, were synthesized, and their structures were elucidated and screened for the antituberculosis activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Rv with the help of the BACTEC 460 radiometric system. Compound 3, 4-fluorobenzoic acid [((5-nitro)thiophen-2yl) methylene]hydrazide showed the highest inhibitory activity in this series. The search of pharmacophores was done by means of the Electronic-Topological Method (ETM).
